EKITI TOURISM BOSS SEEKS OBAS’ SUPPORT FOR SECTOR DEVELOPMENT

The Director General of the Bureau of Tourism, Ekiti State, Mr wale Ojo-Lanre has sought the Cooperation of relevant stakeholders in the state to develop the Tourist Sector in the state.

Mr Ojo Lanre who met with traditional Rulers in the state at the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers’ chamber in Ado Ekiti said that the collaboration became imperative to actualize the vision of the state Government in the Sector.

who hailed the contributions of the monarchs to the state’s development explained that the essence of the meeting was to intimate them with the vission of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to develop the Tourism Sector.

Mr Ojo Lanre noted that the Ekiti government was determined to explore all the tourist sites in the state in its bid to create jobs, strengthen the local economy and contribute to local infrastructure development.

The journalist cum legal pratictioner who lamented how some artifacts from the state were carted away said that the move would also help to take stock and conserve the cultural assets, traditions and the natural environment.

He said that the drivers Unions, youths and other relevant stakeholders would be carried along in the quest to develop the Sector

Mr Ojo-Lanre said that local government Tourism Committee to be chaired by the traditional Rulers would be constituted.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers. Oba Ilori Faboro and Olojudo of Ido- Ekiti appreciated the state government’s involvement of the traditional rulers in the development of tourism.

The Monarch promised the support of members of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, adding that necessary information that would assist the government to achieve its aim would be volunteered by the monarchs.
