Man stabs wife to death in Ekiti over infidelity allegation
A man identified as Mr Dare Onipede aged 34 stabbed his wife, Mrs Aarinola Onipede, 32 to death over allegation of infidelity
The incidence happened on Friday 25 at their recurrence behind Staleg Hotel, along Bojuti off Adebayo area, in Ado-Ekiti.
It was gathered that the couple had misunderstanding as the husband confronted his wife with the allegation of having extra marital affairs with one Isaac Olakunle which resulted in a major argument and a bloody fight.
The husband who is currently on admission at the hospital narrated what happened between himself and the wife. He said he slapped his wife over the allegation of infidelity while the wife ran into the kitchen to take a knife which she used to stab him in the neck and stomach.
According to him, he overpowered the wife, collected the knife from her and stabbed her in the chest in self- defence which led to her death.
Investigation reveals that the remains of the wife have been deposited at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, while the husband is on admission receiving treatment.
All efforts to speak with the police Public Relation Officer proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
