OPEN LETTER TO ONDO STATE GOVERNOR ON WOMEN’S DAY
Dear Governor,
I am writing to bring to Your Excellency’s attention that as we celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, it’s crucial to amplify our demands for women’s and girls’ rights and empowerment in our dear state.
As a concerned citizen and advocate for women’s and girls’ rights, I urge you Sir to take decisive action to address these challenges.
Here are the key demands I’m making to you sir as the Governor of my state:
Increase Women’s Representation in Government: We need more women in decision-making positions to ensure inclusive policies and equal opportunities.
Improve Access to Education and Healthcare: Every woman and girl deserves access to quality education and healthcare, bridging the gap in disparities and inequalities.
Enhance Women’s Economic Empowerment: Initiatives like Kano State’s 50,000 monthly grant for 5,200 women demonstrate the impact of targeted economic support.
Address Gender-Based Violence: We must work together to create a society free from violence and harassment, ensuring women’s , girl’s’ safety and well-being.
Promote Women’s and Girls’ Participation in STEM: Encouraging women and girls in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics will drive innovation and progress.
Support Women-Focused Organizations: Empowering local organizations(NGOs) will amplify our collective impact, driving meaningful change for women and girls.
Develop and Implement Gender-Sensitive Policies: Policies that prioritize women’s needs will create a more equitable society, fostering growth and development.
Let all the citizens unite to create a brighter future for women and girls in our state.
I look forward to seeing all these being actualized in our state.
Kindly accept my best wishes always, Your Excellency.
