Residents of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, have commended the state government for ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects aimed at improving infrastructure and easing transportation challenges.

The residents, who spoke with journalists during an inspection of projects in the Odo-Ado area, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.

The Abodi of Ado-Ekiti, Chief Adedipe Olusola, praised the government’s commitment to infrastructural development, particularly the Ejigbo–Odo-Ado road project, which he said would significantly enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activities in the area upon completion.

He also commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as a responsive administration, noting that the government has continued to address the needs of the people through timely interventions in critical sectors.

Similarly, a resident, Mrs Happiness Joy, appreciated the government for prioritising road rehabilitation and construction within the metropolis, noting that the intervention has brought relief to commuters and residents who previously grappled with poor road conditions.

She added that the projects would not only improve transportation but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.

Another resident, Mrs Adedayo Olayemi, lauded the government for embarking on road projects across the state, highlighting their positive impact on accessibility.

She, however, appealed to the government to extend the intervention to her street at Ilupeju Avenue, near the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, citing the urgent need for rehabilitation.

Other residents also urged the government to sustain the momentum and ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects, while calling on road users to cooperate with contractors and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to preserve the roads.
