Three students rescued in Anambra hostel collapse

Police and other emergency responders on Monday launched a rescue operation after a three-storey student hostel(Elite Five Star Lodge) in Amokpala, near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State, collapsed on Sunday night.
The emergency teams, including the state fire service, State Emergency Authority, and other relevant agencies, have rescued some victims trapped under the rubble as authorities continue searching for others feared trapped.
As of the time of filing this report, about three victims have been rescued from the rubble and are currently receiving medical attention at St. Michael Hospital, Oko.
Officials have yet to confirm the number of casualties while investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
