Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday commended the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi for his “informed and patriotic contributions” to nation building through activities at the National Economic Council (NEC).
The Vice President who spoke on Thursday at the 127th NEC meeting described Dr Fayemi as a great asset to the nation, having provided insightful and helpful contributions to the NEC.
Osinbajo said Fayemi had provided quality and visionary leadership which has facilitated a more robust relationship between the NEC and the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), thereby moving the nation more towards a true federation.
The Vice President expressed optimism that Dr Fayemi would, by virtue of his competence and patriotism, continue to render more services to the nation and humanity at large, even after leaving office as Governor of Ekiti State.
Earlier, Governor Fayemi had also commended Prof Osinbajo for providing outstanding leadership for the Council.
Fayemi specifically hailed Osinbajo for ensuring that the Council pushed the nation more towards true federalism.
The outgoing Governor equally thanked President Muhammad Buhari for allowing him serve the nation; expressing confidence that Nigeria is on the path to greatness.
