….urges members to participate nationwide

The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has described the electronic- registration of members being midwifed by Prof Nentawe Yilwadta-led National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress as a signal that the party remains the most organised in the country.

Mrs Afuye appealed to all loyal and committed members in Ekiti to participate in the exercise for the APC to accurately ascertain and appraise its support base and strength to prepare ahead of future elections.

The Deputy Governor spoke in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday, in a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, while being captured at her office in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.

Describing the programme as a political masterstroke, Mrs Afuye branded the exercise as the most appropriate step taken by Prof Yilwadta, as part of the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Saluting the national leadership for thinking outside-the -box and conceptualised this data capturing political strategy for members, Mrs Afuye, said this further corroborates the widespread impression that the APC remains the dominant party in the country.

“Let me appeal to all our members across the 177 wards of Ekiti State to participate in this exercise. It is a sign that you are a loyal and committed member, if you get captured.

“I see this exercise as a sign that APC is the most dominant, most organised and most prepared for the 2027 polls and beyond.

“I give kudos to our national leaders for thinking about this idea. This is the best way to pilot the affairs of a political party. We must know our strength to be able to prepare well for election. Membership drives and mobilisation are important parts of party organisation.

‘I want to charge all our members in Ekiti to participate. We thank God that the programme has started on a good note and I am pleased that our people are really showing interest in the exercise”.

The Coordinator of the registration exercise and commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, hailed the deputy Governor for displaying leadership and participate in the exercise.

Adedayo expressed satisfaction with the members’ rate of compliance in the second day of the exercise in Ekiti State, saying this signposted that the party has high number of loyal members in the state.

The Coordinator urged the ward agents who are prosecuting the exercise to be diligent and ensure that they move round and capture all members to shore up the success of the nationwide programme.
