FIDA Ekiti applauds Ekiti First Lady wife over her pet project,WAOH
International Federation of Women Lawyers , FIDA Nigeria, Ekiti State Branch has commended Ekiti State Governor’s wife, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji for giving succour to widows and orphans as well as other less privileged citizens in the State.
The commendation is contained in a press statement signed by the Chairperson of the association, Mrs Oyinade Olatunbosun and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
She expressed happiness and gratitude to the Governor’s wife for her recent empowerment of 300 widows and 100 orphans in the state through her pet project, Widows and Orphans Hope, (WAOH ) Support Foundation, by providing them with working tools as well as financial assistance to make life easier for them.
Mrs Olatunbosun who described widows and orphans as people who have lost hope because of their predicaments praised Dr Oyebanji for wiping their tears, giving hope to them, alleviating their suffering, thereby putting smiles on their faces again.
” This is really a giant stride and highly commendable, we must praise our first lady for such a heart of kindness and praying to God to reward her labour of kindness.
” The Wife of the Governor also gave scholarships to 50 orphans from primary school to higher institutions , and scholarships to 50 undergraduates this is indeed laudable and very pleasing to our hearts ”
” On behalf of myself, members of Executive and every FIDA member in the State, we hereby express to our gratitude and appreciation to Your Excellency ma, for always fighting the course of women, the girl child and the less privileged in the state ” . She said.
It would be recalled that Dr Oyebanji on Monday awarded scholarship to 50 pupils from primary school to University level, presented cheques of N100,000 each to 50 undergraduate students as well as provide over 300 widows and orphans with working tools they would need to fend for themselves.
The equipment include freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers, processing machines, and financial support amongst others.
She used the medium to call on well meaning Nigerians to toll the honourable part of the first Lady of Ekiti State by giving back to the society especially the less privileged.
