FUOYE names Shittu as acting VC
The Governing Council of Federal University Oye, Ekiti State, has named the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, as the institution’s acting Vice-Chancellor in an acting capacity.
FUOYE Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mufutau Ibrahim, said in a statement on Monday that Shittu’s appointment was ratified at the Council’s emergency meeting following a request by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, to proceed on his accumulated annual and research leave.
Ibrahim stated, “The Governing Council of FUOYE at its 7th emergency meeting held online on Monday, 14 April, 2025, considered the request of the VC, Prof. Fasina, to proceed on his accumulated annual and research leave and approved six months, being 126 working days out of his total entitlements of 228 days, with effect from today, Monday, 14th April, 2025.
“In addition, the Governing Council appointed Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, the incumbent DVC Academics, who is also the most senior of the three DVCs as acting VC of the University for a period of six months with effect from today Monday 14th April, 2025.”
